You say you want success - and I'm sure you do - but have you figured out exactly what success is?
Success means something different to everyone. It is not a one size fits all statement.
Do you have a working definition or understanding of success that fits for you, or has the word lost its meaning? Did it once have personal meaning, or was it never truly yours in the first place? Is “Success” a dark cloud over you, or a foggy place in your mind you’d rather not visit due to fear? And what has been the personal cost of not understanding this?
If you look up the word "success" in the dictionary and you'll find a definition along the lines of "a favorable result or an event that accomplishes its intended purpose " Well, it is certainly that.
But that's not specific enough.
Success is much more than just a favorable or desired result of accomplishments. It's either a particular favorable result or the culmination of a whole series of favorable results.
Success is extremely difficult to define because it is very personal and means different things to different people and can also mean different things to the same person at different times and periods in their lives.
It's also vital to remember and understand that success is not static. It sometimes is present for a very long time , such as in a successful relationship or business, or it may last for only an instant, such as scoring the touch down and winning the game.
Success can, and should, be found everywhere within your life; at home, at work, at play, at school, and in personal relationships with friends and loved ones. The opportunity to achieve success is everywhere you look and everyone can achieve success - provided it's defined in clear terms and pursued with the right positive mental attitude.
Success comes from you doing your absolute best and love what you are doing, which is something only you have complete control over. We can and sometimes fool other people, but we can never fool ourselves; this is your personal truth. To be successful you can't sit back and wait for things to happen; you have to make them happen. Its your life, so star in it!
Never measure your success by comparing yourself with others. Compare yourself only against your own potential.
Success rarely consists of one major achievement, though it certainly can. Success will usually consist of continually reaching a series of practical steps and goals, which might be spread over a period of many years broken down into manageable steps. But it will also consist of many minor successes along the way - ones that might occur in a single moment, day or week.
Find your own definitions and propel your life towards them. And always remember that there is no such thing as failure, just failure to be a major player in your own life.
There is a difference between Accomplishment, Success, and True Success.
Lets' explore this briefly.
Accomplishment is where you have engaged in a task and have obtained the desired results. It is a based on a desired expectation and obtained results. People accomplish things all day long, but really achieve no Success in those actions.
Success is something very different and if you wish to attain this level you need to understand it.
Success to most people is when you have an ongoing string of many accomplishments that when put together as a whole, add up to a major obtainment known as Success.
We all can if desired attain many accomplishments but few obtain True Success.
Why is that?
True Success has to be Passion driven, that comes deep within your heart. It is driven by a ferocious hunger that cannot be stopped. It is a driving force to get you motivated and out of bed on the coldest days. True Success is a force from within that knows no failure.
What is Success to you?
That is completely up to you. No two people will be exactly the same But it is not just an accomplishment. It is beyond that. It’s much bigger than that.
The realization of a dream and an ideal that is driven by the heart’s desire and passion that will not, cannot, and will never be denied is true Success .
They are driven by Success, not just pursuing it. It is a driving force.
